Wayne was crowned after a tense best-of-five showdown recently in London. The victory was all the sweeter for Wayne who has had a string of near-misses including finishing as runner-up on TV’s Countdown series 28, being one game away from qualifying for the 2011 World Scrabble Championships, and coming third in the 2011 Association of British Scrabble Players Masters title.
