Warrington Quiz League

Quiz players may be interested in a table Quiz, organised in aid of Warrington Disability Partnership by Roy and Liz Smith (Roy plays for Hatton Coterie).  The quiz takes place at St Oswald's Catholic Club, Padgate Lane on the last Friday of each month, excluding July and December, at 7:30 pm for a prompt 8 pm start.  The quiz is varied and includes pictures and dingbats.  There are also additional events with prizes for both the quiz and the other events.  Entry is £2 per head, with an additional £1.50 for a pie and peas supper.  Teams should consist of no more than six members.  Several quiz players already take part and all other entrants will be welcome.

Colin Foster of Alford Academicals will be appearing in the Mastermind Semi Final that is being shown on Friday 4th April on BBC2 at 8.00pm.

Congratulations to Roy Smith of Hatton Coterie who became the 2014 Warrington Individual Champion, beating Neil Macaskill, Alan Hoy and Val Gannon in the final.  David Smith won the Supporters' Plate final.

The four finalists will progress to the MQL MIMIR finals, the heats of which will take place in Warrington on March 19th.  The final will be played at the MQL presentation evening on 14th May.

STV are currently looking for contestants to take part in therr brand new BBC 1 quiz show called The Link. It’s a general knowledge game of strategy, lateral thinking and team work where contestants have the chance to take home thousands of pounds!

They are now accepting applications for the first series and are looking for enthusiastic, outgoing, knowledgeable teams of two who fancy battling it out for a potential cash prize.

The Link is a brand new quiz show where teams don’t just rely on general knowledge but lateral thinking, in a race to find the link between the answers.
